What is Poptropica Worlds (and how is it different from Poptropica)?

Poptropica Worlds is a game brought to you by the creators of Poptropica. You will be able to dive into additional quests and islands, like Crisis Caverns and Greek Sea Odyssey! We've added a new feature to give hints to players in Poptropica Worlds islands. Click the "Quests" icon in the bottom left corner of each island. This will help you to know what to do next!

Are coins the same things as credits?

No, Poptropica Worlds coins are not the same as credits. Poptropica Worlds has a different economy than Poptropica.

Account Information

I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?

Players can register a parent email address with Poptropica. This allows the account password to be reset quickly using a password reset email sent to the parent. A child must have input a parent email address and the parent needs to have verified the email address before the "forgot password" function will work. To reset the password, begin by entering the username in the Login box on the New Player/Login page, along with anything in the password box (do not leave it blank), and then click the "Sign In" button. Poptropica will pop up an error box; close it, and Poptropica will display a red "forgot password" button. Click that "forgot password" button to get a popup asking if you want to send an email. Click the "OK" button. Poptropica will send an email to the parent with instructions for creating a new password for the child's account. If the "Forgot Password" button does not appear, it means the player's account does not have a parent email address recorded and verified for this purpose. You can contact customer service for assistance. Visit the "Contact Us" page. Then reach the inquiry form by clicking Game Questions > Forgot Password.

Can I change my password?

You can change your password by clicking Menu > Settings > Account Settings. Reenter your old password and enter your new password in the "Change Password" section.

When I try to save my game, I get a message that my password is too easy. What do I need to do?

Passwords must be at least five characters long and cannot contain your user name.

I saved my game a long time ago. I still have the username and password, but when I tried it, it wasn't available. Where did it go?

If you keep returning to your saved game, your character and items will always be available. If you don't return for 6 months, your game may be removed from Poptropica.

Can you delete my son / daughter's account for me?

Upon successful verification, a Parent can request for their child's account to be deleted.

How do I cancel my membership?

All Poptropica Memberships automatically renew at the end of the term. You can cancel this automatic renewal so that your membership will end after the current membership period:

Purchased on the Poptropica website using a computer: review your purchase confirmation email from Poptropica. Click the "cancel automatic renewal" link in that email. A web browser will open. Confirm your choice.
Or you may write to us on our contact form to cancel the Membership.

Purchased in the app on a mobile device: iOS device users can manage subscriptions in their Apple account. Details are available here. Android device users can manage subscriptions in their Google Play account. Details are available here.

Can I purchase Membership with a prepaid credit card?

No. Issuers of prepaid credit cards decline attempts to use the card for a Poptropica Membership. The reason is that Poptropica Membership is a recurring charge. If you would like to purchase a Membership that does not renew automatically, we suggest using a regular credit/debit card for the purchase. A confirmation email will be sent to you with a link that allows you to turn off the auto-renewal feature.

How do I change the card that will be charged for Membership? I need the Membership renewal to go onto a different credit/debit card.

Please turn off automatic renewal on your current Membership. Once the current Membership period has finished, you can then buy Membership again using a different card. For assistance with turning off automatic renewal, visit the "Manage Membership" page.

Will taxes be added to the price of a Poptropica Membership?

In states where tax is required, tax will be added to the price of a Poptropica Membership. Currently, tax will be added to new purchases and to renewals for residents in the following states: MA, NY, SC, UT, WA.

Why was I was notified that my membership has been cancelled?

This can be due to a number of reasons, such as:

  • a problem with the credit card
  • payment cancellation because they did not recognize the purchase on their credit card bill. Poptropica purchases look like this on credit card statements: "FEN*Poptropica.com".
  • the purchaser decided to cancel your membership

In order to get membership returned to your account you will need to have an adult purchase it for you.

Credits

What are Credits?

Credits are used to purchase items for your Poptropican such as costumes, followers, powers, pranks, pet accessories, and clubhouse decorations.

Can I return or exchange a Poptropica Store item?

No. Items purchased with Credits cannot be returned or exchanged. Please be sure you want the item before you buy it in the Poptropica Store.

Game Play

One of the cards in my inventory won't work on every island. Why is that?

Some items and abilities gained in-game are only usable on certain islands. If your character has gained a jetpack and can fly, the jetpack may only be usable on the island it was retrieved.

How do I communicate with others in Poptropica?

Poptropica uses a pre-scripted chat system. This means that users are provided with question and answer options to choose from in order to communicate with each other. There is purposely no free chat in Poptropica in order to make our virtual world as safe as possible for kids. To communicate with another user, visit the Arcade on the Home island or a common room in another island. These rooms are filled with other users. To begin a conversation in the Arcade or in a common room, click on another Poptropican. You will be given the choice to chat, or play a game; choose "chat." Once you have chosen to chat, a series of dialogue boxes will appear. Choose one of the questions to ask the other user. If you receive a question from another user, you can choose from a series of responses. You can also request to be friends with the other player. If they accept, then you can leave pre-scripted comments for the friend on their Personality Profile page.

How do I use the Costumizer tool?

The Costumizer tool allows you to customize your outfit by copying clothes and accessories from other characters. Simply click on the shirt icon in the Menu, then click on the character you want to copy from.

The dialogue goes by so quickly that I can't read it in time. Is there any way to slow it down?

You can pause the game at any time by clicking the menu in the top right corner. You can also set your preference in Menu > Settings > Dialogue Speed.

Realms

What is Poptropica Realms?

Poptropica Realms is a unique experience within Poptropica where players can explore worlds, destroy and build whatever they imagine, and then share their creations with others.

How do I play Poptropica Realms?

You can enter Poptropica Realms from the Home island. Up in the sky, to the left of the Blast-Off Arcade, click the orb under the "Realms" banner to enter. You must save your game before you can enter Poptropica Realms.

Can everyone play Poptropica Realms?

Everyone can create and explore Poptropica Realms, but only Poptropica Members can share their creations with the world.

I shared a realm, but it was reviewed and rejected. Why?

Realms that are shared with the public must first be reviewed by the Poptropica team. If they find anything that seems inappropriate for the public, then the realm will be rejected. Generally this would include any images or written messages that contain profanity or personal information.

How will I know when my Realm is approved?

In the "My Realms" section, select the Realm that you shared. The page with the "Visit" button is displayed. This page will show you a status: pending, approved, or rejected. Once you see that your Realm is approved, it will be included in the Public Realms section.

How do I set the start location of my shared realm?

Visitors to your Realm will start in the spot that your avatar is standing at the time you share it.

Can non-members create Realms?

Yes! Non-members can create three Realms. Non-members can view all of the Realms shared by Poptropica players. Non-members can 'like' the Realms that they visit. Only members can share their Realms with the Poptropica community.

How many Realms can members create?

Members can have up to 20 unique Realms, each one with multiple scenes. Players may delete their Realms to make room for new ones. Members may choose to share their Realms with everyone on Poptropica, or to keep them private. A Realm is private until a member decides to share it.

Can I unshare a Realm?

No. Once a Realm is shared and approved, it is available to all players on Poptropica. A member can delete the Realm though if they wish.

How can I find a Realm that someone else created?

Select "Realms" on the Home island. Visit the "Public Realms" section. This screen shows 10 Realms. They are a combination of newly-created Realms, popular Realms, and Realms that were randomly chosen. Click the "See More" button to move on to another set of 10 Realms. To visit a Realm, click one of the floating spheres. You'll be able to visit the Realm and to 'like' it.

I've shared a Realm that I created. Now what happens?

All shared Realms are reviewed by Poptropica before they become visible in the Public Realms section. We look forward to seeing your creations! Realms will be approved unless they show personal information or inappropriate content. Once a Realm is approved, it will appear in the Public Realms section for all members and non-members to visit! We may also share your creation with the world through our social media sites!

What are the system requirements to play Poptropica?

Poptropica requires a computer with internet access and a web browser that runs Adobe Flash Player.

Friends

What is the Friends feature?

Friends on Poptropica provides an opportunity for self expression! You can share your mood, personality, and game achievements with other friends through your Personality Profile. Build out your Personality Profile by saving photos or costumes for your avatar. When you add friends to your list, you can check out their Personality Profiles!

How can I befriend someone?

Enter the Arcade on the Home island or the common room in one of the other islands. Then, click on another player and select the "Friend" option to request that person as a friend. If the player accepts, they will be added to your friend list.

How do I save an outfit to my Costume Closet?

Open the Costumizer by clicking the T-shirt icon in the top right corner of the screen in any Island. Select a character who has clothing that you want to add to your outfit. Select the items that you want to wear. Click the green button showing a hanger with a plus symbol. That will add the look to your closet. You can also costumize from your friends. On your Personality Profile, select one of your friends from your list. Click a costume from the friend's Costume Closet. Select the items you want to wear. Click the green button with the hanger and plus symbol to save the look to your closet. Non-Members can save one outfit to their closet. Members can save up to 30 outfits in their closet. Members are able to costumize any clothing item available in Poptropica. Non-Members are only able to costumize free items, and are not able to costumize Member-only items or items from the Poptropica Store.

What happens to my Costume Closet and my Photo Album if I let my Membership expire?

The outfits in your Costume Closet are no longer accessible without Membership. You're limited to viewing only one photo per Island without Membership. However, your outfits and photos will be saved, and will become available to you again if you resume your Membership.

What information can others see about my Poptropican?

Anyone who has added you as a friend can see your Personality Profile page. This page shows your mood. It displays a Photo Board of pics you have taken in the Home island's Photo Booth. It features the outfits in your Costume Closet. Visitors can see how many islands you have completed. Friends can visit your Clubhouse. They can also see your Friends list and the comments your Friends have left for you. Members can customize this Personality Profile further by changing the wallpaper and adding stickers.

Do you share information about a player's profile or activity in Poptropica with other websites?

No, a player's individual profile and activity are never shared with any other websites.
